Mortenson Construction hoisted the final steel beam on the 22-story building at 1800 Larimer this past Friday that ends the construction of the exterior building structure after almost 15 months. Following the tradition of a topping off ceremony, the beam was signed by the steel workers and representatives of the partnering organizations and was hoisted up with the American flag and a tree attached.
The 500,000-square-foot LEED Platinum office building at 1800 Larimer St. in Denver is scheduled for completion April 2010 and will be downtown Denver's first LEED building. The Frederick Ross Co. has already preleased about 75 percent of the building.
Mortenson Construction, the general contractor, and Westfield Co., the developer, conducted Larimer’s topping off ceremony.
